hey Guys! I've got some CG announcements!

1. The next rostering for our CG to be down for BMI (Building maintenance and Improvement) which basically just means cleaning our church! is 28th July (Tues) 5.30pm.

2. Connect Group! It will be on 22 July and 29 July (Wednesdays) from 6.30-8pm in church!

3. Our CG growth target by the end of July is to be 28! :) Last weekend we were 27! So we're almost there!

Why do the leaders set growth targets?? cos we need to have a clear vision of what we want to achieve!

Dr David Yonggi Cho, who pastors the world's largest church says of his church's remarkable growth "The #1 requirement for having real church growth - unlimited church growth - is to set goals"

4. Quite alot of us are falling ill, down with fever and all, so everyone please get ample rest, drink enough water and get some Vit C!

He is founder and CEO of Christian Cultural Center.

He continues to revitalize communities; recently partnering with Common Ground to build and develop affordable housing in the East New York/Canarsie section of Brooklyn and leading a transformational team to purchase one of the nation’s largest Mitchell Lama Programs (Starrett City, Brooklyn, NY).

In addition to establishing Christian Cultural Center's Food Pantry, Prison Ministry, Domestic Violence Initiative and Family Life Center, Bernard organized a rapidly growing male mentoring program with more than 1000 male mentors.

Bernard has a Master of Urban Studies and a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary. In May of 2009, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Nyack College/Alliance Theological Seminary.

But more than anything, it is a milestone for Heart of God Church because Pastor A.R. Bernard is an international speaker and He speaks to large crowds.

He usually comes for Asia Conference or CHC services with at least tens of thousands in the congregation. Yet, he's coming to our church of about 1400. More than anything, Pastor Kong is also coming with him to Heart of God Church.!!

Don't MISS THIS for anything else! It's an opportunity of a lifetime!

for some of you who don't know who Pastor Joakim is and seriously can't understand why the whole church cheers so much whenever we see him, or his picture, you've definitely GOTTA COME for this weekend's 3 services man!! he's such a cool Pastor, and every time he comes to our church, we will always learn so much from him! more than that, he has a ministry called Ny Generations, and it's main focus is YOUTHS in SCHOOLS! he'll bring amazing stories of different people going the extra mile to bring the love of Christ into their schools, and amazing testimonies of how people are touched by what they do!

indeed after the winter of midyr exams, uni exams and the final lap for poly project presentations ... summer is coming. since the people of d8 who are schooling are having our summer holiday now and the army guys just POP-ed, we headed down to singapore's island resort ...

after the monorail ride and very hot tram ride, we finally arrive at the end of siloso beach!! :D

upon arrival, some people started getting in the water. even people who weren't prepared to get into the water decided to linger along the shores also got dragged in ... there was however a lot of difficulty getting cheong jing into the water despite having shuyi and myself drag her into the water.

we then divided into teams for a volleyball game which didn't last long ... on one side was shuyi, cheong jing, calvin, ding jie, julian and myself and on the other team was benedict, daniel, sihui, jen, lijun and cavin!

calvin beautifully captured this photo! the sun that burnt our skin BADLY! do not be alarmed by lobster-coloured people of d8 during service this weekend. LOL.

we started packing up at abt 5pm to shower and head back to the main land for a good and cheap dinner at harbourfront food centre. similarly, the lazy bum bums took the tram back to the monorail station. ;p

after having multiple servings at the food centre (due to severe starving before that), we went to toys r us to find another fellow cg mate WAN CHIN who was working there! we then continued to wreck havoc around toy r us ... the photos prove it all. LOL.

... who tried to turn the annoying and lame daniel chew into a prince ...

... but failed terribly. so kids, morale of the story is that as powerful as fairy godmothers can be, some people are just beyond redemption. HAHAHAHA.

whatever it is, one whole day spent as a cg was indeed great fun! although we all ended up looking like we came out of a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees, well ... at least we'll have a cg identity this weekend - the sunburnt cg!
